Dear Readers,

We are together again with a new issue.

While preparing our second issue, I found myself asking:

What makes a person's life beautiful?

What they own? The places they've seen? What they've achieved?

Of course, all of these are part of life. But as the years pass, one comes to realise that beauty is often hidden in far different places.

Still feeling curious when you wake up to a new morning. Finding joy in making one small thing in your home more beautiful. Knowing the value of sitting at the same table with the people you love. Noticing a flower has bloomed. Never neglecting to take care of yourself. Never giving up on learning something new, on making, thinking, and changing.

I have never believed that growing older means withdrawing from life.

Quite the opposite — I believe that with the years, a person comes to know themselves better. They understand more clearly what they love, what they don't want, what truly matters.

Perhaps when we are young we wonder what life will bring us. As the years pass, a different question grows in importance:

What do I bring to this life?

To the warmth of a home… To the joy of a table… To our family's memories… To the lives of the people around us… And to our own days…

Sometimes we don't need to do anything very grand.

Taking care of where we live, looking after ourselves, speaking kindly, listening well, continuing to learn, sharing what we know, and still being able to dream new dreams — these too are ways of being fully present in life.

For me, Zarif Yaşam is, in part, an expression of exactly this.

We are not preparing this magazine only to talk about beautiful homes, tables, gardens, fashion, health, or the culture of living.

Behind all of this lies a larger idea:

Not remaining indifferent to our lives.

Looking closely at our bodies, our homes, our surroundings, our relationships, and the world we live in. Because whatever a person tends to, they build a bond with.

While preparing this issue, I too made room again for something that has long been part of my life. This month, I sat down at the sewing machine for you.

Touching fabrics, seeing colours placed side by side, and watching a piece in my hands slowly take shape still gives me the same happiness it always has. Because I believe making has no age. A person renews their bond with life both while sharing what they know and while trying something new.

Perhaps that is exactly what we want to do at Zarif Yaşam: bring what we have known for years into conversation with today's world, and keep on learning, trying, making.

September is always one of the months that makes me think about this.

Summer has not entirely left, yet there is already word of a new season in the air. Our wardrobe slowly changes, our table changes, the colour of the garden changes; even the light of the day begins to fall differently.

Nature quietly reminds us:

Change is not the end of beauty. Sometimes it is beauty continuing in another form.

Perhaps we should look at our own lives this way too.

Every period has its own beauty, every age its own richness, every new day still has something to offer us.

We only need to keep seeing it.

This is why, in our September issue, we are not only preparing for a new season. We are listening to our bodies again, opening up breathing room in our homes, bringing our tables closer to the season, and looking more closely at our garden and at nature.

We are looking a little more slowly at the world around us; rediscovering the beauty we pass by every day but may no longer notice.

Because living with elegance, for me, is not about building a flawless life.

It is about knowing the worth of the life we already have.

Making room for the people we love without setting ourselves aside; living in the present without forgetting our past; knowing the value of what we already know while still accepting there is more to learn…

And whatever age we are, being able to look in the mirror and tell ourselves:

"I still have so much left to live, to learn, to make, and to share."

Perhaps this is why the way a person carries themselves changes over the years.

Calmer, yet stronger. More selective, yet more curious. Having lived through more, yet still with so much left to say to life…

Looking at this second issue of Zarif Yaşam today, this is exactly what I feel.

To keep honouring what we carry from the past, while turning our face toward today and tomorrow, and to keep staying fully present in life.

It is with this feeling that I leave the second issue of Zarif Yaşam in your hands.

May the new season bring all of us new beauty.

But most of all, may our curiosity to see that beauty, and our wish to make life more beautiful, never fade.

With love,
